Product Description
The product form of cold-rolled grain oriented silicon steel is cold-rolled sheet or strip, with a nominal thickness between 0.18 and 0.35mm. Its surface is flat, the thickness is uniform, and it has the characteristics of high magnetic induction and low iron loss. The (110) plane of its crystal is parallel to the plane of the steel strip, and the easily magnetized<001>axis is parallel to the rolling direction. This material has good lamination properties, which allows motors or transformers manufactured with cold strips instead of hot rolled strips to reduce weight and volume by 0-25%.
Cold rolled grain oriented silicon steel is mainly used to manufacture various transformers, fluorescent lamp ballasts, and stator cores of steam turbine generators. In transmission and distribution systems, about 60% of electrical energy is consumed in transmission and distribution wires, and about 40% is consumed in transformers. In the total loss of transformers, iron loss and copper loss each account for about 50%, and iron loss is directly related to the quality of silicon steel used to manufacture iron cores.
